"Mun san cewa an sami fari da yawa a kan ciyayi, kuma rayuwar mutane tana kan layi," in ji Ariana Forand, wata daliba ta Masters a Kwalejin Aikin Noma da Albarkatun halittu a Jami'ar Saskatchewan (USask). "Zai zama abin ban mamaki don nemo gyare-gyare wanda zai ba da damar tsire-tsire su tsayayya da damuwa da yawa."
Forand ya jagoranci wani aikin da ya binciko yadda calcium da boron ke taka rawar gani wajen ƙarfafa ganuwar tantanin halitta, yana taimakawa rage rashin ruwa da ke zuwa tare da daskarewa da fari da ƙara juriya ga pathogens.

Tawagar ta yi nazarin samfuran albasa da tattara bayanai a Advanced Photon Source (APS) a Illinois, godiya ga haɗin gwiwar wurin tare da Canadian Light Source (CLS) a Jami'ar Saskatchewan.

Wani fasali na musamman na wannan bincike, wanda sakamakonsa ya kasance wanda aka buga a mujallar Tsirrai, shine ya kalli matsalolin da yawa a lokaci daya - rashin ruwa a cikin albasarta na Welsh da albasarta dafa abinci, da kuma juriya na cututtuka a cikin Arabidopsis, ƙananan ciyawa mai fure a Afirka.
Bayan ƙara Calcium gauraye da ruwa ga albasar da aka shuka a cikin greenhouse, Forand ya yi amfani da synchrotron X-ray microscopy don tabbatar da ba wai kawai cewa tsire-tsire sun ɗauki calcium ba amma sun kasance a cikin bangon tantanin halitta.
Ƙarin gwaji tare da yanayin bushewa ya nuna raguwar asarar ruwa a cikin tsire-tsire da aka kula da su. Hakazalika, an san boron yana ɗaure da pectin a cikin bangon tantanin halitta na Arabidopsis, yana ƙarfafa juriya da cutar da aka gabatar.
Forand ya ce "Muna duban hanyoyin karfafa bangon tantanin halitta." Tabbatar da cewa calcium da boron suna rage tasirin asarar danshi da cututtuka yana buɗe kofa don neman irin wannan tasiri a wasu tsire-tsire.
Dokta Karen Tanino, farfesa na kimiyyar tsirrai na USask kuma mai kula da Forand, ya ce a kowace shekara, “matsi ɗaya zai iya zama ruwan dare fiye da wata - ba za ku iya faɗi ainihin abin da zai kasance ba.
